‘’Our increasingly urgent need to be healed and to heal the world requires that modern bioscience transcends its fear and tread cautiously but courageously into the other realm where the many as yet mysterious secrets of the heart’s code are still hidden. From the first miracle of the beginning of life to the final miracle of transcendence beyond life, you have your own spiritual recording chamber vibrating in the center of your being. Every beat of your heart shapes the memories that will forever be your legacy, the infinite echoes of your soul that will resonate long after your body and brain have ceased to serve your soul’s needs. Sit back, become very quiet, ignore your brain’s urging to get up and get going, and take plenty of time to sense the subtle code tapping in your heart and the other hearts around you, you will have the wondrous privilege of being a participant observer of the forging of your soul.’’

~ P.Pearsall, Ph.D. The Heart’s Code

A scientifically controlled study conducted by German researchers at the University of Kassel has shown that while the chest area of an average person emits only 20 photons of light per second, someone who meditates on their heart center and sends love and light to others emits an amazing 100, 000 photons per second. That is 5000 times more than the average human being. Numerous studies have also shown that when these photons are infused with a loving and healing intent, their frequency and vibration increases to the point where they can literally change matter, heal disease, and transform negative events.

The heart also loves, feels, thinks and remembers and communicates with other Hearts. It stores information and continually with each beat pulses this information through the body. It is far more than what modern science would have you believe. It is also a pump that pumps the cellular symphony that is the very essence of your being and it is a magnetic and radiating vortex and the true source of human power.

In this edition of The Red Hibiscus, we’re going to explore the power of confessional poetry and the nature of our self-image, memory and, ultimately, the power of our hearts to hold the creative spark within before an artist projects it forth into the world. Nell Rich is a poet whose art genuinely probes the emotions in a manner so similar to the canon of Sylvia Plath, Anne Sexton and Adrienne Rich. The Forest We Played In ends with an image of the sun rediscovered through an array of cascading evanescent layers: the forest, the flowers, the merging mystical timelines and lifetimes.

In Embers, Emile Calvet reminds us of Vesta, the brightest asteroid in the sky. His lines about the lore of the Vestals who kept the sacred flame alive are an invitation to ask ourselves if we honor our inner flame within as well. Has our divine flame gone black or do we serve the ailing humanity through our words and actions despite all the dark clouds around us?

Imee Jane Manalili is currently studying analytics at the Development Academy of the Philippines. Her fascination with transcendental realities makes her wonderful poem a truly inspiring call towards finding our Heavenly Home. In First Love, dandelions flee and time closes the door on itself as a linear constant in order to follow those faintly audible whisperings of the heart to find Home.

What is truly important to Scott Conard is knowing his work inspires others to be happy and to appreciate the big and little things around them. The Moment Came is a sensual ode to passion and the ecstasy of unity consciousness.

Black Blanket by Destiny Izehi is a magical world of sky goddesses who dwell in the sea like the legendary Melusine. Seahorses, shards of clouds, numbers submerged in pale moonlight follow the reader’s descent into dark shadows searching for love. This abstract poem resembles a Roberto Matta painting where a viewer loses oneself in a unique biomorphic blend of organic and cosmic forms. Just like Scott Conrad, Matta believed that art and poetry could change lives.

The occult power of numbers resurfaces again in 11:11 by Sarah Beck. Can our reality be forever frayed by encountering the numinous as Sarah describes? Let’s hope so! After all, reality is a dream, but we must be cautious not to evoke the power of the nightmare.
